The DOUBLE LAYER COLD WELDING TECHNOLOGY is our main construction. Featuring a second PVC layer, which is welded directly to the core layers and around the V-Drop Stitch material – the heart of each Reptile Inflatable. An additional third layer of coloured rail bands round off the highly durable and premium quality, with stylish optics of the deck print.
The benefits of the DOUBLE LAYER COLD WELDING construction when compared to the standard Double Layer technology is a 20 – 25 % reduction in weight, and around 25 – 30 % increase in stiffness. Simply the best inflatable technology out there!

CARBON PADDLES TECHNOLOGY
One of the most advanced techniques for making composite components is by using prepreg carbon fiber reinforcement, cured under heat and pressure to produce professional quality parts with a high quality surface finish, low resin content and excellent structural performance.
- All our blades are made using the Autoclave oven, cured at 120°, with a pressure of 6 bar. The best in terms of carbon fiber compaction and durability.
- Pre preg Twill Carbon 200 grams/m2 layers 45/45 degree for the torsions and impact resistence
- Pre preg UD Carbon 150 grams/m2 layers 0 degree for the flex characteristic
- Biax Carbon rail insert along the edge of the blade
- Pre Preg internal tube reinforcement in the shaft/blade connection area, to eliminate any extra flex and breakages.

Three words to describe the unique Reptile Shaft Reflex Technology.
It’s easy to achieve this result if the best Pre preg UD and fabrics Carbon fibers meet an accurate Autoclave oven production process. The Reptile Shaft is one of the lightest shaft in the world.
The worst enemies of a carbon composite product are the air bubbles between the fibers and the lack of the epoxy resin that couldn’t cover the carbon fibers. In both of that cases, we have a breakage.
With the Autoclave production process, all the Pre Preg Carbon fibers are perfectly compressed under a 6 bar pressure, and the epoxy resin system can cover the entire surface of the product.
Many brands created different shaft stiffness, as paddlers could find the most suitable for their style and characteristics. This is a very good idea.
But, if you go deeper in the composites field, you find that the epoxy resins and the carbon fibers ( which constitute the Prepreg carbon) are subject to a plus/minus 5% tolerance. This tolerance affects the weight and of course the flex of the product. It’s natural, it’s a composite characteristic.
So when a brand advertize that can create different shaft stiffness, it’s a TRUE story. When the numbers of the different stiffness are too close to each other, it’s a FALSE story, as the tolerance can cover and exceed those numbers.
Reptile developed two Flex Options to maximize your performance:
- STIFF ( S39), for more direct transfer of energy and 75/90 kgs riders
- SOFT ( S41), for a more gentle transfer of energy and 55/75 kg riders
The stiffness is measured by applying 30kg in the center of the shaft, supported at 100cm distance to measure the deflection in mm.
